Egypt Holds Interest Rates After Trump’s Gaza Plan Jolts Region - BLOOMBERG

Egypt kept interest rates at a record high, opting for caution as US President Donald Trump’s trade tariffs and controversial proposal to relocate Palestinians from Gaza stoke fresh economic uncertainty.
The central bank maintained the deposit rate at 27.25% and the lending rate at 28.25%, its Monetary Policy Committee said Thursday in a statement. The regulator’s seventh consecutive hold is in line with projections by all but one of eight economists surveyed by Bloomberg.
