The Nigerian naira has yet again depreciated further against the United States (US) dollar on Wednesday, 25th February 2026, closing at N1,359.5 per dollar at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM).
According to the official data shared by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on its website, the naira opened trading at the NFEM rate of N1,356.1141 per dollar and closed at N1,359.5 per dollar in the official market.
This depicts further depreciation yet again compared to the NFEM rate of N1,355.3745 and the closing rate of N1359 on Tuesday, 24th February 2026.
Going by the previous trading on Tuesday, it’s obvious that this depreciation is slight, and with timely interventions of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), there is a high possibility that the naira will regain its ground against the US dollar in no distant time.

According to the Bureau De Change operators in major commercial centres like Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Kano, the Naira to dollar exchange rate at the black market on Wednesday, 25th February 2026 was N1,370 and N 1,390 for buying and selling rate respectively.
