Bitcoin could reach $13 million in 21 years, says MicroStrategy's Michael Saylor - THE STREET ROUNDTABLE

SEPTEMBER 10, 2024

A massive bitcoin price prediction sparks speculation about the future value of the cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin’s long-term price predictions often spark lively discussions, and MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor’s recent forecast has certainly caught attention. During an interview on CNBC, Saylor predicted bitcoin could reach $13 million in the next 21 years.

This bold prediction was the focus of a conversation between Scott Melker, host of The Wolf of All Streets podcast, and George Tung, host of CryptosRus.

George Tung reflected on the significance of the 21-year time frame, noting, “At first, I was thinking, why 21 years? But it makes sense because there will only be 21 million bitcoin ever.” He highlighted the regular four-year price cycles of bitcoin, explaining how inflation and bitcoin’s growth could lead to such a high figure. “One day we can see $13 million per bitcoin. First things first, let's break a hundred thousand and then let's break a million dollars.”

Melker acknowledged the potential logic behind Saylor’s estimate, remarking, “If you look at the way that he extrapolated these numbers, to your point, it does make some sense.” He pointed out that bitcoin could grow to represent a much larger portion of global capital. “I think he put it at 7% of global capital and gets us to three, four million, and then 13 million is a simple 3X from there over a cycle.”
