Naira closes week’s trading at N1,368.5 in official market - NIGERIAN TRIBUNE

The Nigerian naira closed trading for the week at N1,368.5 per dollar at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) on Friday, 27th February, 2026.

The data shared on the official website of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the naira opened trading at the NFEM rate of N1,363.3954 per dollar and closed at N1,368.5 per dollar in the official market. 

This marks further depreciation when compared to the previous trading rates. For instance, on Thursday, 26th February, 2026, the Naira opened trading at the NFEM rate of N1,359.8181 and closed at N1,361.5 per dollar.

Considering the statistics of the previous trading rates of this week, the Nigerian Naira depreciated against the United States (US) dollar every single trading day. 

At the parallel market, the naira maintained its exchange rate with the dollar, as both the buying and selling rates were the same when compared on Thursday, 26th February, 2026. 

According to the Bureau De Change operators in major commercial hubs in Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt, and Abuja, the Naira to dollar exchange rate at the black market on Friday, 27th February, 2026 was N1,360 and  N1,380 for buying and selling rate respectively.
