JANUARY 17, 2025

The naira strengthened against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Thursday, a day after a dip. FMDQ data showed that the naira gained N1.54847 per dollar on Thursday, up from N1.551.10 recorded the previous day. This indicated a marginal appreciation of N2.63.

While the naira showed stability against the dollar at the official market, it dipped by N13 on Thursday on the black market.

DAILY POST recalls that the spokesperson for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, bragged about the naira’s stability against the dollar.

On Wednesday, DAILY POST reported that the naira weakened against the dollar at both official and parallel foreign exchange markets in response to Nigeria’s inflation rate.
