Swiss Franc Stands Alone Against the Dollar - BARRON'S
By Karishma Vanjani
The escalating war with Iran has boosted the value of the dollar, the world's reserve currency, against most major currencies Monday morning–except one, the Swiss franc.
The euro declined 0.31%, while sterling was 0.23% down against the dollar. The New Zealand dollar had taken a sharp blow, down 1.1% against the U.S. dollar. The dollar was also up versus the Japanese yen and China’s renminbi.
But the Swiss franc didn't buckle. The dollar was down 0.1% against the Swiss franc. That is in alignment with the trend of a strengthening franc this year and showcases its safe haven feature over the dollar in times of stress.
