UK wages slowed to 4.8% in three months to July, ONS says - REUTERS
LONDON, Sept 16 (Reuters) - Growth in workers' pay in Britain, excluding bonuses, slowed to 4.8% in the three months to July compared with a year earlier, the Office for National Statistics said on Tuesday.
Economists polled by Reuters had mostly expected regular annual wage growth of 4.8% for the May-to-July period compared with 5.0% in the three months to June.

The Bank of England last month lowered interest rates to 4% from 4.25% but the central bank is widely expected to keep them on hold this week as it worries about persistent inflation pressures in the economy, including the jobs market.
