ICYMI: Naira depreciates against dollar in official FX market - NIGERIAN TRIBUNE

The Nigerian naira depreciated against the United States (US) dollar, trading at a Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) rate of N1353.9018 per dollar at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official foreign exchange window on Wednesday,18th March, 2026.

According to data shared on the CBN’s official platform, the naira traded at the NFEM rate of N1353.9018 per dollar and closed at N1,362 per dollar.

Tribune Online earlier reported that on Tuesday, 17th March, 2026, the naira traded at the NFEM rate of N1,344.4158 per dollar. 

Comparing the trading rate of  N1353.9018 on Wednesday with Tuesday’s previous trading rate, the Naira depreciated by at least N9.  

At the parallel market, the naira-to-dollar exchange rate depreciated by N15 for both the buying and selling rate respectively.

According to AbokiFX, the Naira-to-dollar exchange rate at the black market on Wednesday, 18th March, 2026, was N1,395 per dollar for the buying rate and N1,405 per dollar for the selling rate.
