Naira appreciation continues against US dollar as BDC operators lament FX access - DAILY POST

OCTOBER 29, 2025

The naira continued appreciation against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Tuesday as Bureau De Change operators decried access to foreign exchange.

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the Naira strengthened on Tuesday to N1,448.20, up from N1,452.79 traded on Monday.

This means that the Naira gained N4.59 against the dollar on a day-to-day basis.

Meanwhile, at the black market, the Naira remained stable at N1,485 per dollar on Tuesday, the same exchange rate as on Monday.

The development comes as the Association of Bureaux De Change Operators of Nigeria lamented their members’ access to dollars despite the continued rise in the country’s external reserves, which stood at $42.86 billion as of October 22, 2025, according to CBN’s data.
