Naira further strengthens against dollar at official market - NIGERIAN TRIBUNE
The Nigerian naira strengthened again against the United States (US) dollar on Thursday, 11th March 2026, closing the market with at least N5 gains per dollar at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official foreign exchange window.
According to the data shared on the official platform of the CBN, the naira traded at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) rate of N1,376.1925 per dollar and closed at N1,373.5 per dollar.
This appreciation, for the second trading day, is yet another pointer that the Nigerian naira is gradually rebounding against the US dollar after weeks of steady depreciations.
On Tuesday, 10th March, 2026, the Naira traded at the NFEM rate of N1,401.4041 per dollar and closed at N1,390.5 per dollar in the official market. With Wednesday’s rate of N1,376 per dollar, the Nigerian currency appreciated by at least N5.
At the parallel market, the naira to dollar exchange rate has also appreciated by N10 and N20 for buying and selling rate respectively.
According to the Bureau De Change operators across Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt, and Abuja, the Naira to dollar exchange rate at the black market on Wednesday, 11th March, 2026, was at N1,410 per dollar for the buying rate and N1,440 per dollar for the selling rate.
