The Nigerian naira opened the FX market with yet another depreciation against the United States (US) dollar, trading at N1,364.2374 at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official foreign exchange window on Monday, 27th April, 2026.
According to the data shared on the official platform of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the naira traded at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) rate of N1,364.2374 per dollar and closed at N1,369.0000 per dollar.
Tribune Online reports that the Nigerian currency closed the official trading week with an NFEM rate of N1,358.4351. When put against each other, the Nigerian naira opened the official trading week with a loss of at least N5 on Monday.
At the parallel market, the naira-to-dollar exchange rate for the buying rate remained the same while the selling rate increased by N2 when compared with the previous trading rate on Friday, 24th April, 2026.
According to AbokiFX, the Naira-to-dollar exchange rate at the black market on Monday, 27th April, 2026, was N1,390 and N1,398 per dollar for buying and selling rates, respectively.
