Naira strengthens against dollar at official FX market - NIIGERIAN TRIBUNE

The Nigerian naira appreciated against the United States (US) dollar, trading at N1,378.7011 per dollar at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official foreign exchange window on Wednesday, 1st April, 2026.
According to the data on the CBN’s official platform, the naira traded at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) rate of N1,378.7011 per dollar and closed at N1,376 per dollar.
Comparing this rate with that of Tuesday, 31st March, 2026, when the Nigerian currency traded at N1,386.7156, the Nigerian currency, for the first time in a while, gained by at least N8.
At the parallel market, the naira-to-dollar exchange rate for both the buying and selling rates decreased compared to the previous trading rates. The buying rate decreased by N10 while the selling rate decreased by N6. This shows an appreciation on the part of the naira.
According to AbokiFX, the Naira-to-dollar exchange rate at the black market on Wednesday, 1st April, 2026, was N1,410 and N1,420 per dollar for buying and selling rate respectively.
