Traffic nightmare on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway - BUSINESSDAY

An accident involving multiple vehicles, including trucks and cars, has happened at the Kara end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, causing a mighty traffic jam. The incident occurred on Friday, April 18, 2025, after a container-laden trailer collided with other vehicles on the Ibadan-bound carriageway near Berger bus stop.
The crash has narrowed the lanes, resulting in a standstill traffic situation on the outward Lagos section of the expressway, which is gradually affecting the other section as well. Some impatient drivers have resorted to driving against the flow of traffic on the Lagos-bound carriageway, further complicating the situation.
Traffic Advisory
Motorists heading towards Ojodu Berger are advised to delay their movements, as the gridlock has extended all the way to 7Up and is still building. Commuters in the area are facing a near standstill.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution and consider alternative routes if possible. FRSC, Police, LASTMA, and other traffic agencies are on the ground working to clear the obstructions. Commuters with time-bound activities may want to explore other routes or postpone their trips until the situation is under control.
