Nigeria's Tinubu nominates banker Cardoso as new central bank governor - REUTERS
ABUJA, Sept 15 (Reuters) - Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has nominated banker Olayemi Cardoso as the new central bank governor, his spokesperson said on Friday.
Tinubu has sent the nomination, which includes a new management team to the Senate for screening and confirmation, spokesperson Ajuri Ngalele said in a statement.
Cardoso would replace Godwin Emefiele who was suspended by Tinubu in June and later detained by the country's state security agency.
