Naira gains, trades at N1,372/$ at official FX market - NIGERIAN TRIBUNE

The Nigerian naira appreciated slightly against the United States (US) dollar, trading at N1,372.3079 at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official foreign exchange (FX) window on Thursday, 21st May 2026.

The data shared on the official platform of the CBN shows that the naira traded at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) rate of N1,372.3079 per dollar and closed at N1,372.7500 per dollar.

Tribune Online reports that the Nigerian currency on Wednesday, 20th May, 2026, traded at an NFEM rate of N1,373.3431. Comparing this with the trading rate on Thursday, 21st  May, 2026,  the Naira appreciated by at least N1.   

At the parallel market, the naira-to-dollar buying rate increased by N2, while the selling rate remained the same compared to the previous trading rate on 20th May, 2026.

According to AbokiFX,  the Naira-to-dollar exchange rate at the black market on Thursday, 21st May, 2026, was N1,392 for the buying rate and N1,397 per dollar for the selling rate.
