The Nigerian naira appreciated slightly against the United States (US) dollar, trading at N1,370.5600 at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official foreign exchange window on Wednesday, 13th May 2026.
The data shared on the official platform of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) show that the naira traded at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) rate of N1,370.5600 per dollar and closed at N1,368.95000 per dollar.
Tribune Online reports that the Nigerian currency, on Tuesday, 12th May 2026, traded at an NFEM rate of N1,375.6219. Comparing this with the trading rate of Wednesday, the Nigerian currency appreciated by at least N5.
At the parallel market, the naira-to-dollar for the buying rate increased by N2, while the selling rate increased by N6, when compared with the previous trading rate on 12th May, 2026.
According to AbokiFX, the Naira-to-dollar exchange rate at the black market on Wednesday, 13th May, 2026, was N1,390 for the buying rate and N1,400 per dollar for the selling rate.
