Nigeria’s NNPC says key gas pipeline leak contained, inspections underway - CNBC
by Tife Owolabi
YENAGOA, Nigeria, Dec 15 (Reuters) – Nigeria’s state oil firm NNPC Ltd said on Monday it had contained a leak on the key Escravos-Lagos gas pipeline in the oil-rich delta following an explosion last week and that it had safely isolated the affected sections.
A joint preliminary inspection by NNPC, the midstream regulator and maintenance contractors has been carried out at the site, the company said in a statement.
The incident, reported on December 10 in South West Warri, prompted coordinated containment measures to protect host communities, personnel, and the environment, NNPC said.
