Naira trades at N1,371/$ at official FX market -

The Nigerian naira depreciated slightly against the United States (US) dollar, trading at N1,371.0400 at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official foreign exchange window on Friday, 15th May, 2026.

The data shared on the official platform of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) show that the naira traded at the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) rate of  N1,371.0400 per dollar and closed at N1,372.0000 per dollar.

Tribune Online reports that the Nigerian currency, on Thursday, 14th May, 2026, traded at an NFEM rate of N1,370.8862. Comparing this with the trading rate of Friday, the Nigerian currency depreciated by at least N0.15.    

At the parallel market, the naira-to-dollar for the buying rate increased by N1, while the selling rate remained the same, when compared with the previous trading rate on 14th May, 2026.

According to AbokiFX, the Naira-to-dollar exchange rate at the black market on Friday, 15th May, 2026, was N1,393 for the buying rate and N1,400 per dollar for the selling rate.
